We would like to recruit an Integrative Play Therapist. Therapists undertake therapy assessments and deliver core therapy services such as developing emotional understanding, therapeutic life story work and attachment-based therapy. Additional training will be available to develop the skills of therapists in this area to ensure we are equipped to provide all needed services.

The post will involve providing therapy sessions to children in our clinic, in their homes, and in school. The therapists appointed will need to be skilled in designing and providing therapy sessions for children and be able to work independently. They will be willing to learn new therapy techniques and expand their knowledge of practice with continued professional development.

Essential:

- MSc Play Therapy or equivalent
- Registered with the BAPT or equivalent
- Own transport and willingness to travel for therapy visits
- Knowledge of attachment theory
- Be able to develop individual therapy sessions using evidence-based practice.
- Establish collaborative and constructive therapeutic relationships with complex young people and their carers, communicating highly sensitive information, often in a highly emotive atmosphere.
- Be able to demonstrate excellent listening skills, provide reassurance,
- empathy, conflict resolution, and the ability to negotiate with colleagues
- and young people with complex needs to reach agreement about potentially
- conflicting priorities.
- Have an interest in working with typically developing children who have experienced neglect and trauma.
- Be able to work alone and use initiative.
- Be able to manage a caseload including planning, recording and reviewing
- Be flexible in their approach and have resilience.
- Be committed to developing and disseminating services.
- Be committed to developing a working team using child focused practice
- Have excellent IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Software.

Desirable:

- Knowledge or experience of working with children in the foster care system
- Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, outlook, sharepoint, and photoshop.
- Other therapy qualifications (PCAP, Theraplay, etc.)

**Job Type**: Freelance

**Salary**: £20.00-£25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 15 per week
