We are looking for Support Workers with the passion to work with our fantastic teams in one of our Residential Services in Neath. Ideally you will have a background in supporting autistic people but if not, we have a fantastic training programme that will get you on your way to achieving a fulfilling job that will beat most out there.

Posts are available on both a Part Time (18 Hours) basis. The National Autistic Society operate a progressive pay scale for frontline workers. The starting salary for this position is £9,360 per annum.

The role includes:

- Helping individuals achieve independence and personal goals
- Supporting and transporting individuals to integrate into their community
- Develop individuals home making skills and personal chores
- Transforming lives and achieving results for Autistic Adults
- Working an average of an 8-hour shift, which can start from 7.30am and can finish up to 10.00pm in the evening and will include weekend work and some sleep-in duties.

**Job Description**:
We need you to be: Resilient, supportive and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people. Being a support worker takes passion, patience and commitment. But working with autistic people gives so much more in return.

To protect our autistic adults, all staff are required to have a criminal background check. Possession of an Enhanced DBS Check either on the Update Service or conducted within the last 12 months would be preferable but not essential.

Your working pattern will be a rolling fulltime or part-time shift pattern varied over a seven-day rota that will include weekends and bank holidays. On being appointed and welcomed in to one of our homes, you will be rota'd to work a morning shift of 7.30am to 3.00pm or and afternoon shift of 3.00pm to 10.00pm on different days of the week. Also, after settling in and competing appropriate shadow shifts and training, you will also be expected to undertake Sleep In's overnight as part of your monthly Rota, where our individuals will be fast asleep and we need a responsible person in the home to be there should they be needed.

You may have a personal connection, a desire to work with or real life experiences working with autistic people. You might not have lots of experience yet, but if you share our values and are willing to make a difference to the lives of autistic people, we’d love to hear from you.

Possession of a driving licence (minimum one year) is preferred but not essential.
