You'll join our friendly team of Support Workers at a few houses in Redditch which is home to some wonderful people who each have a learning disability. A few among them require infrequent support and others 24/7.

Let me introduce you to the 3 charming young men; Ben, Dave and Joe* who all have an active work life as well as a balanced social life. They enjoy going for parties, having takeaways and going on holidays, sometimes together as a group but often individually with support.

As a Support Worker, in addition to supporting them to get to work independently, you will also provide assistance with day-to-day living tasks, such as shopping, cooking and all the activities they enjoy doing. You would also have to administer medication and manage the various appointments.

**How Relief hours work**

It's a bit like a zero-hour contract but without the bad bits.
- You don't have to work when it's not convenient for you.
- Receive the same training towards professional qualifications as permanent staff.
- We offer these contracts not because it suits us but because it suits you.
- Job security and career development

The Relief (Bank) post supports the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave, training and other staff absences. As such, hours are non-specific, but your manager will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work/life balance as appropriately as possible.

We normally plan the rotas one month in advance, but additional opportunities also come up due to unexpected staff absences.

**Training and Development**

At Macintyre we fully support your training and development. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face-to-face training and mentoring support whilst on the job.

But it doesn't stop there - throughout your career with us you will have access to our own dedicated in house Learning and Development team, Quality Specialists and HR Teams. These teams, along with your Manager, will provide you with opportunities to learn and develop professionally as well as enabling and supporting you to achieve professional qualifications and career progression opportunities - all free of charge.
