**Forensics Reporting Officer (Drugs), SOCOTEC, Bretby, Burton on Trent**

To support our ambitious growth plans, SOCOTEC has a great opportunity to join our forensic department which specialises in the testing and analysis of drugs and illegal substances from our accredited laboratories in Burton on Trent. Operating from state-of-the-art laboratories holding fully comprehensive ISO17025, we are able to meet the standards that our clients require. We are passionate about providing a high quality, reliable and flexible service.

We’re looking for a Reporting Officer to join our Forensics Science Division, who will:

- Process results and produce reports (SFR and full section 9 statements) to the required standards, specifications and time constraints
- Provide advice to laboratory staff
- Examine exhibits, prepare samples, undertake non routine work whilst being responsible for the quality of ones own work
- Have a good understanding of all aspects of detailed analysis including identification of unknown compounds and classification of new compounds relating to drugs and illegal substances
- Attend court where and when required
- Be aware of and conform to the laboratory quality system, specifically UKAS (ISO17025) and forensics regulators code requirements
- Project a professional, courteous image and support the business culture and codes of practice at all times
