**Job summary**:

- Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. - This post is for a Data and Sanctions Team Officer within the Data and Sanctions Team (DAST) and will contribute towards meeting workflow goals for all workstreams which include the data exchanges with; HMRC, DWP, DVLA and DVA, the NHS debtor process, the Banking workstream and the Alcohol Licensing and Late-Night Refreshment process. You will be supported by an Executive Officer line manager and the rest of the team to accurately conduct immigration status checks. You will become competent using the IPIC system which is the workflow database used to store, share, and manage data.
- Benefits of the data exchange have resulted in over 40,000 driving licences being revoked, savings to DWP of £13m and HMRC of £26.8m in benefit cessations. It is also a key element of identifying illegal working.-

**Responsibilities**:

- Processing referrals from other government departments such as the HMRC, DWP, DVLA, NHS.
- Assessing customers status by conducting immigration status checks on Home Office systems to commence removing incentives such as driving licences, bank accounts etc.
- Monitoring the team inbox and dealing with enquiries by liaising with the relevant parts of the Home Office, stakeholders and responding to the query.
- Investigating and assessing referrals, creating and updating cases on the IPIC system.
- Referring complex cases to a manager.
- Liaising with wider Home Office units; including ICE Teams, Intelligence and Removals Casework.

**Essential criteria**- The ability to build and establish strong relationships with internal/external partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high levels of concentration and attention to detail skills as you will be dealing with numerous spreadsheets/databases at any one time.
- Flexible, organised and able to balance a range of demands whilst delivering accurately at pace.
- Good interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively within a team.

**Desirable criteria**
- Knowledge of Home Office immigration systems are an advantage but are not essential as full training will be provided.
- A working knowledge of current Home Office casework and immigration enforcement processes is an advantage but are not essential as full training will be provided.
- Good IT Skills.
