Our client is a global market leader in high-end scientific measuring devices. They are currently offering this excellent opportunity for a Assembly Technician to join them on a permanent basis.
The main role of an Assembly Technician is to complete a variety of mechanical, wiring and vacuum assemblies with regards to analytical scientific apparatus.
Main Duties:

- Cleaning components in preparation for assembly
- Constructing wiring / mechanical assemblies and completing tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintaining work areas and equipment for the purpose of ensuring a safe and organised working environment
- Assisting other personnel or completing any reasonable task not usually undertaken as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

**Responsibilities**:

- Observing and adhering to Health and Safety rules and procedures
- Observing and adhering to quality procedures to satisfy BS EN ISO 90001:2000 requirements
- Observing and adhering to all general company rules and policies
- Working under direct supervision using standardised procedures; providing information and/or advising others
- Nu Instruments reserves the right to vary or amend the duties and responsibilities of the post holder at any time according to the needs of Nu Instruments' business
**Requirements**:

- Experience of Electrical/Mechanical assembly
- Experience of using a wide variety of hand tools including soldering, crimping tools and measuring equipment
- Soldering to component level
- Good knowledge of Electrical Safety
Desirable:

- Ability to read engineering and electronic schematic drawings
- Experience of ESD handling precautions
- Experience with intricate mechanical assembly with a keen eye for detail
