We are a lady and 2 gentleman who live in Maesteg in a shared house. We are looking for a support worker (25 - 35 hours per week) who can encourage us to do more - both in our home and in our local community.

The Lady supported said “I love doing wordsearches, jigsaws, and building Lego; of which Friends Lego is my favourite. I have a real passion for Lego and collect it, so if you enjoy building Lego and doing puzzles, that would be great. I also like to garden and am planting fruit, herbs, and vegetables, as well as building a fairy garden. I love to have my garden looking good and have my own garden swing to sit and enjoy. I like arts and crafts and have painted my own Peebles for my garden which I am very proud of as I love painting and drawing. I like going for lunch, going to the local cafe, and meeting up with my family and friends. “

One Gentleman supported said that “I currently go to Men's Shed every week and like to have a chat and get the latest news on my hometown. I love music and my favourite artists are Elvis and the Animals, but I like most 50's, & 60's, music. I do not mind music from 70's and 80's, but anyone who loves music will be great in supporting me. I like to attend music shows and concerts, & I love a good tribute band, as long as its Rock and Roll. I also like to go out for lunch and a pint, as well as go to the local café. I do not walk far and use my car to get to most places therefore I need someone who can drive”.

The other Gentleman said “I love walking, in the countryside, along the beach, in parks and bike trail walks. I love a home cooked meal and my favourite is a Sunday Dinner. I enjoy eating out and going for a cuppa, especially if there is a nice cake with it. I love quiz programmes and I watch The Chase most days. I love my clothes and looking smart is really important to me.”

We would really love to become more independent and be able to do more tasks ourselves, so we really would like you to support us in learning new skills around our home. We love to decorate our home and have BBQs and parties in the Garden. If you have similar interests to those above, we would love to meet you and possibly welcome you to our support team”.

**So, who are we looking for?.**

Someone who is calm and will take the time to help us express ourselves. We like banter and fun in our home so would prefer someone who is outgoing, bubbly & someone that has a good sense of humour & can make us laugh. People who are fun to be with and will help us try out new things. Someone who likes cooking as we like a home cooked meal, & loves music, especially Elvis and Rock and Roll. Ideally, you will be someone who lives locally so you know the area if possible. We also need a driver as we have our own cars that we use to go out and about in the community.

**What will you be doing?**
- As a Support Worker you will develop, implement, and review a range of individual support plans to enable the person that you will support to lead a fulfilling life.
- You will provide support with a range of tasks which may include household and domestic tasks, shopping, diet/food preparation, personal care, personal hygiene, dressing and personal appearance.
- As a Support Worker, we will support you in studying towards your QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care, which is completely funded by mirus.
- You will work alongside other professionals such as care managers, community nurses and occupational therapists to deliver high quality support.

You may understand the issues associated with people with complex needs, but we will provide in depth training and coaching. Being a Support Worker takes bravery, patience, and commitment. If you share our values and are willing to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you
