**About the role**
- Responding to customer enquiries
- Undertaking noise assessments and air quality monitoring
- Pest control and nuisance investigations
- Investigating breaches of planning control
- Gathering evidence and writing follow-up letters and reports

**About you**

We’re looking for:

- An enthusiastic and self-motivated officer
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Competent user of Microsoft Office, e.g. Word, Excel, TEAMS, Sharepoint
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to effectively prioritise workload
- Proven team working skills

Specific requirements for this role:

- You must have 3 A levels (grade A to C) or 80 UCAS points
- You must a hold GCSE (grade A to C or 4 and above) in English and Maths
- You will need to demonstrate a proved ability and willingness to study and develop your skills and knowledge
- You should be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, members of the public and other agencies, both verbally and in writing
- You must show flexibility and willingness to work unsocial hours and weekends where needed to undertake routine inspections and enforcement activity to include during events such as Reading Pride and Reading Festival
- You will need to be a good problem solver and have a flexible approach to your work.
- It is essential that you hold a full driving licence
