Buyer

A well-established and leading manufacturing company based in East Yorkshire is looking for a Buyer to join the business. This is a full-time permanent position working in a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment and is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in purchasing & wants to progress their career in this area. Working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours and offers attractive salary & benefits.

**The successful Buyer will be responsible for**:

- Ensure materials are bought on time and at or below target cost for both factory and site
- Obtain and negotiate prices, placing purchase orders in line with business requirements
- Support site requirements, inc. the hire of plant/skips and supply of additional materials
- Continually look for opportunities to drive down procurement spend and deliver cost savings through project and category savings.
- Source materials/suppliers as required & challenge cost increases and overspends
- Maintain accurate procurement records
- Develop good relationships with internal customers, stakeholders and suppliers.
- Resolve supply issues, implementing improvement plans and developing alternatives if necessary.

The ideal Buyer will have previous relevant experience of working in a procurement role ideally within a manufacturing environment. Experience within construction or the modular building sector would be a bonus but is not essential. You must be highly numerate with good negotiation skills and have excellent IT skills, in particular Excel. The role would suit someone who is familiar with working in a fast-paced environment and who is working towards or willing towards CIPS qualifications.

This Buyer role offers a salary £27,000 - £30,000 and the working hours are 37.5 per work (8.30am to 5.00pm) and is commutable from Driffield, Beverley, Hull, Bridlington, Malton Scarborough & surrounding areas.
