After becoming independent from Leeds Hospitals Charity last year, our client, an ambitious growing charity, are now rolling out nationally to support people whenever and wherever they need them. As part of this expansion, an experienced part time Finance Assistantis required to join the team.

Applications are encouraged from individuals looking for a part time role, split over 3, 4 or 5 days per week with the ability to provide accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, reconciliation of bank accounts, preparations for payroll, contractmanagement and processing of accounts payable / receivable invoices.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assisting with the preparation of the month end management accounts & preparation of the year end accounts
- Maintenance of the accounts on our accounting software (Xero) and processing of monthly journals with a high level of accuracy
- Raising invoices and maintaining credit control processes
- Comfortable working across a range of IT suites, particularly HRIS systems, maintaining accurate data producing reports as required
- Reconciling and accurate coding of donations and other income to Xero, in conjunction with the fundraising team
- Raising purchase orders, reconcile them to invoices received and generate supplier payment data on a timely basis
- Ensuring all financial control procedures and policies are adhered to and promote these within the organisation
- Ensuring all restricted funds income and expenditure is coded correctly
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Provision of payroll information to the external payroll provider
- Processing of employee expenses
- Assisting the Director of Finance and Resources with the annual budgeting process and mid-year forecasts

**Key Skills & Experience**
- Previous experience of working in a busy finance environment
- Knowledge of all transactional aspects of a finance function
- Knowledge and understanding of accepted accounting principles
- Experience of implementing internal financial procedures and policies and being able to suggest improvements
- Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise tasks and has excellent time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to build good working relationships internally and externally
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to demonstrate flexibility and respond to tight and sometimes changing deadlines
- Strong IT skills and proficient in the use of Excel
