**Principal Objectives**:
This Livestock Procurement Officer role consists of the administration involved in procuring all types of cattle in line with the procurement plan, ensuring they are to company specification and high welfare standards. With a focus on excellent customer service and promoting the business to successfully grow the Pickstock brand. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, communication and organisation.
- Working with suppliers to drive the best possible supply chain.
- Ensure a consistent flow of livestock is received in line with production requirements.
- Communicate with team and Livestock Manager to ensure alignment and sharing of best practices.
- Track trends and changes within the industry, understanding the impact on our suppliers and the business as a whole.
- Advising suppliers on upcoming changes.
- Willingness to implement change for continuous improvement, ability to analyse current working practices for improvements, flexibility and adaptability.
- To ensure that all animal handling procedures are in line with current legislation, required standards set by the company and any supplier requirements.
- Take part in ongoing training and development to progress in role.
- Feedback to the Livestock Manager on a regular basis and produce clear and comprehensive reports.
- Working within your area of procurement, understanding local trends and identifying new business opportunities.
- Participate in team meetings, producing presentations for senior management as requested.
- Be accountable, approachable and punctual at all times.

**Key Attributes, Knowledge & Skills**
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Scottish/UK livestock industry.
- Self-motivated and able to direct own work.
- A strong work ethic.
- Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
