As one of the oldest youth organisations in Wales, the work of Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Wales is having an outstanding impact on the lives of young people in Wales since 1928. The first youth clubs were opened in the early 1920’s and had strong links with the miners of Wales who made significant contribution to its development through regular weekly payments.

Our work would not be possible without the dedication of the 3500 volunteers that spend their time to support young people through volunteering with Boys' and Girls' Clubs' of Wales and our member clubs. Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Wales is a registered charity (1009142) and a member organisation of the Council for Wales of Voluntary Youth Services (CWVYS) which enables us to influence current policy.

Our aim is to support the young people and their changing needs in these tough times through providing them with a safe place to go to, training and projects that will enable them to fulfil their potential and the opportunity to take part in life changing opportunities.

Today more than 170 youth and sport clubs from all around Wales are members of our organisation. We are offering them help and support to assist them to develop further as an important part of their communities and to ensure that every young person can have equal access to the best quality opportunities they can.

JOB SPECIFIC:
This role will oversea BGC Wales work in partnership with Neath Port Talbot Youth Service to promote healthy lifestyles and wellbeing strategies amongst young people and to support their engagement in wider activities in the community.
- The Senior Youth Worker will lead the project in partnership with Neath Port Talbot Youth Service staff.
- The Senior Youth Worker will line manage the Youth Worker who is working on this project.
- The Senior Youth Worker co-ordinate, develop and deliver a broad curriculum of activities and informal education to young people that are innovative, engaging and challenging, in a variety of settings, including on a detached and outreach basis.
- The Senior Youth Worker will work in partnership with young people to ensure interventions are relevant to their needs and appropriate for the setting, whilst enabling the young people to use their learning to enhance their future development.
- The Senior Youth Worker will provide information and support to young people as and when required, whilst identifying other agencies to whom the young person should be referred to for the information and support required.
- The Senior Youth Worker will develop positive and productive working relationships with communities, voluntary youth groups and other agencies to develop new provision and improve existing provision for young people.
- The Senior Youth Worker will produce regular press releases (including social media) to celebrate the achievements of young people and the important role they play and contribution they make to society.
- The Senior Youth Worker will attend and contribute to meetings and training programmes as required by the project partners.
- The Senior Youth Worker will maintain effective management information systems to provide accurate reporting and monitoring of data and to work with the Youth Service to compile and produce any relevant reports.

- To provide information and prepare reports for the Chief Executive or the Management Team as required.
- To take part in training that is relevant to the role.
- To take part in Team Meetings and Regional meetings, and other relevant meetings as a representative of Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Wales.
- Ensure compliance with Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Wales’s Policies and procedures.
- To report without delay any safeguarding concerns to the appropriate safeguarding officer.
- As a term of your employment you may be required to undertake such other duties and/or times of work as may reasonably be required of you, commensurate with your grade or general level of responsibility within the Organisation.

**Salary**: £27,202.00-£28,001.00 per year

This role is to support young people who have suffered as a result of being isolated because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff must adhere to organisational protocols to keep themselves and others safe.
