**Job Purpose**:
**Salary**: £26,000 - £32,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

The Scripted Commissioning Coordinator supports key elements of the commissioning process, working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, this can include assessing proposals, sourcing suppliers, seeking new talent and managing small projects from conception to delivery. They also support the team with core administrative activities.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- To provide editorial and administrative assistance, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the scripted slate, making sure we meet our commissioning commitments, as set out in our Commissioning Process Framework.
- To coordinate the sourcing of new writing and performing talent in comedy and drama.
- To oversee new talent initiatives within commissioning including some digital commissions and events.
- To work effectively with internal departments, including scheduling, commissioning, delivery, compliance, content discovery and business affairs.
- To manage the co-ordination of scripted proposals sent via the BBC commissioning process.
- To assist the scripted commissioner in assessing proposals/scripts and rejecting/ progressing/ allocating ideas, as appropriate, providing feedback to commissioners on submissions.
- To champion the continuous improvement of the commissioning processes.
- To build strong relationships that improve the experience of producers and talent working with the BBC.
- To provide support and analysis to the scripted commissioner on editorial intersections and opportunities.
- To manage projects and handle delegated workload, with the scripted commissioner.
- To produce documentation, collect data and carry out reporting throughout the commissioning process.
- To support the commissioning assistant with briefings, events and meetings.
- To provide administrative support for the scripted slate, such as document management, processing IT/finance/expense requests, asset tracking, management and scheduling of key appointment, etc., as appropriate.

**Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience**:

Essential
- An informed interest in content making and a demonstrable aptitude for detail and accuracy in all areas.
- An informed interest in all areas of comedy and drama in Scotland including on screen and in live performance.
- Experience of scripted production in TV, Film or Theatre.
- A proactive approach to solving problems and resolving issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, sufficient to establish and maintain effective relations with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to spot and develop new ideas.
- Able to present ideas and opinions clearly and effectively using a range of tools and techniques.

- Experience of working within a commissioning environment.
- Experience of creating and developing digital comedy content.
- Experience of handling confidential and/or controversial information.
- Proven record of being organised in fast paced environments.
- An understanding of evolving audience requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of the financial consequences of editorial decisions.
- Understanding of the commissioning processes/cycle, along with awareness of Ofcom regulations and code of practice.
- A broad-based knowledge and familiarity with conventional and specialised sources of information, and research techniques.

The Commissioning Coordinator reports to a Commissioning Editor, Business Advisor or Partner (or equivalent) and is an individual contributor role.

Scope

The role will support a commissioning team and their processes, maintaining and monitoring commissioning systems and using editorial skills and knowledge to seek out opportunities and to assist wider team activities.
