The Senior Content Designer will be part of our Elections Digital team at DLUHC. It’s an exciting time to improve and expand the electoral services in Public Beta to meet users’ needs better. This includes:

- Register to vote
- Vote in UK elections ‘step by step’

We need to improve the understanding of the users and their needs, assess the users’ experience of our services and test design ideas, focusing on people with disabilities and people who don’t have access to the internet or lack the skills or confidence to use it. Your work will benefit millions of people use our services each year to vote in the UK.

**Job description**:
Content Designers are key figures in our team. They help us make complex information and processes easy to understand and follow. Their skills helps our team design services that meet user needs and achieve their intended outcomes.

As Senior Content Designer, you will:

- write clear and easy to understand content in plain English that meets user needs and achieves the right outcomes
- review, editing and evaluate content
- follow the GOV.UK Style Guide, the Service Manual and the GOV.UK Design system
- have a deep understanding of the content patterns in the different services
- design inclusive services that meet a range of access needs
- use research and data to develop, test and iterate multiple design ideas
- work closely with researchers, designers, and other stakeholders
- give, receive, and encourage constructive criticism

We are looking for someone who has extensive experience:

- using research and data to develop, test and iterate multiple design ideas
- designing inclusive services that meet a wide range of access needs
- working closely and negotiating with stakeholders
- giving, receiving, and encouraging constructive criticism
