Lancaster, United Kingdom Lancaster University Full time

Lancaster University is looking to appoint a Student Support Coordinator to join the Disability and Inclusion Service within Student Wellbeing Services.

This is a year fixed-term, full-time role for 36.5 hours per week until December 2023 in the first instance.

The start date is negotiable, but we are seeking to appoint this post as soon as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity for a role within Disability and Inclusion Services. As a Student Support Coordinator you will be part of a proactive front-line student enquiry and support team who deliver high quality, seamless, disability support and advice for students within the context of the Equality Act 2010. You will support the development and delivery of new proactive, inclusive and accessible services (in-person and digital) that are responsive to student need.

You will also be responsible for student advice and guidance services, initial assessments of student needs and the coordination of arrangements to implement reasonable adjustments to support compliance with the Equality Act 2010. You will work with students both in-person and through digital platforms, liaising with colleagues and departments to facilitate the implementation of appropriate adjustments. You will work collaboratively as part of a team, triaging student and staff queries and escalating issues where appropriate.

Please note, being able to work flexibly is a requirement of this role; you will work both virtually and in an open plan office in a service that operates 9am - 5pm weekdays with this role being located on campus for the majority of working hours.

Due to the nature of the service, there may be a need for additional hours in busy periods and some weekend or evening work (e.g. Open Days / special events) for which time in lieu will be given in line with University practice.

The University holds an Athena SWAN Charter Bronze Award, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education.
