Applications are invited for a Qualitative Researcher to work with a team working with Dr Charlotte Albury on a research programme on qualitative research on health behaviours.

The post is embedded in the thriving Health Behaviours team in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences (NDPCHS). The team work on interventions to prevent or treat ill-health by intervening on diet, obesity, and smoking. We have a strong track record of applied research that can benefit patients and lead to changes in the health system and a growing focus on using conversation analysis to understand health communication.

The successful applicant will have excellent knowledge of qualitative data collection and analysis methods, including conversation analysis. Responsibilities will include working across a number of qualitative studies, including clinical trial process evaluations, and clinical communication analyses.

You will hold a PhD/DPhil in a relevant field (or be about to obtain one in the next few months), and have qualitative experience including training in, and knowledge of, conversation analysis.

You will be based in the Radcliffe Primary Care Building or Gibson Building of the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work but there may be the opportunity for occasional remote working.

The position is funded by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and the NovoNordisk Foundation (NNF) until 31st March 2027.
