This position is initially a fixed-term contract for 12 months covering maternity leave working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday (08:30 - 16:30).

**The Role**:
As part of the role, you** **will be supporting the Head of HR and HR team which includes the following;
- Provide advice to senior management and line managers on recruitment and selection strategies - this will include writing job descriptions and preparing interview questions and selection criteria and supporting interviews etc.
- Carry out new starter inductions and onboarding activities.
- Support line managers with performance management and engagement of their teams to ensure high performance.
- Support line managers with the probation process and provide advice where applicable.
- Support line managers in the sickness absence management process through reports and providing advice on processes in line with CMS2 policy and best practice.
- Compilation and gathering of site monthly reports, outlining key HR activities, trends and progress against critical metrics.
- Manage employee relations casework as directed by the Head of HR including dispute resolutions, disciplinary, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy.
- Provide first-line advice on current and existing benefits for employees and managers, escalating to the Head of HR if necessary.
- Work closely with the Head of HR to provide HR reporting information when required.
- Creation of letters where required (eg: leavers, role changes, salary changes etc).
- Support and improve current processes in line with best practice.
- Support the Head of HR with HR initiatives and projects.
- Assist the Head of HR and Central HR team in rolling out wider HR strategies and policies within business to drive performance and mitigate disputes.
- Work with the Head of HR and line managers to identify employee training needs and competency levels.
- Provide backup support for payroll data to the group.

**About You**:

- Experience working within an HR function, ideally as a HR Advisor, HR Officer or similar.
- Ideally working towards or CIPD qualified or equivalent.
- Good understanding of UK employment law.
- Ability to use initiative and patience to remain calm.
- Professionalism and an overall positive attitude.
- Excellent communication skills are required.
- Strong attention to detail.
