Public Engagement Officer

Hourly rate £15.26

This role would suit someone who has;
- Experience of working in a social care, health, or community work environment in a statutory or voluntary organisation specific to client group
- Experience of working in a team
- Experience of problem solving and dealing with a range of queries

**The role is based in New Cross Hospital, West Park Hospital, and other health venues across Wolverhampton.**

**Being admitted to hospital can be worrying and upsetting for people. Often the thought of being discharged home especially if you live on your own can cause additional anxiety and stress. People worry about how they are going to cope and care forthemselves while they continue to recover at home.**

**This role is about identifying people before being discharged and linking them to the services that the Community Support Team / Carer Support Team offer.**

**Connecting people to the right support so they return home to a warm safe welcoming environment is key to the success of this role.**

**The public engagement officer role also includes identifying family carers. Carers who may already have a caring role, but their role may have increased due to a hospital admission. New carers due to sudden illness or accident someone may have becomea carer.**

**Being based on the wards, working with patients, families, and health professionals to identify and link people to vital support.**
