**Your Role and What You'll Be Doing**

Working as an Electronic Payments Assistant, you’ll be part of the team responsible for all on‑line banking receipt and payment processing activities which support the whole Irwin Mitchell Group. Your role will involve the identification, allocation and processing of receipts which come into any of the bank accounts across the business units. You will undertake the daily processing of electronic payments, recording on the accounting systems and processing through on‑line banking accurately, timely and fully compliant with SRA regulations and firms policy and Financial Controls.
- Checking and processing electronic payments and accurate recording onto the accounts system
- Identifying any trends in unreferenced items in order to work with the business to reduce the number being credited
- Assisting in the maintenance of a central list of expected receipts
- Communicating in a timely manner with internal clients regarding payment and receipt status
- Using judgement to escalate any issues appropriately to the Team Leader
- Understanding the roles of colleagues in all areas of Financial Operations, recognising the end to end processing of transactions to be able to work flexibly and deal with, or refer, queries in a timely manner

**About You**
- General Accounting / Book keeping experience
- Ability to work within strict service level agreements
- Customer facing experience
- Commercial or retail banking experience
