Project Management Officer (IT PMO) vacancy in large public sector organisation in Coalville
£27,275 - £30,306 per annum, flexible hybrid working pattern (1 day per week in office), 35-hour week, 39 days annual leave (including statutory days), good pension scheme and other generous benefits
Hays Technology are working in partnership with a large public sector organisation in Coalville to recruit a Project Management Officer to join their Technology team on a permanent basis.
The purpose of the role is to support the Project Management Office including: tracking status of programme deliverables and milestones; supporting the adoption of the project lifecycle and deliverables; programme level risk and issue co-ordination; monitoringthe status of projects transitioning into normal service; coordination of the regular project and programme level reporting cycles; co-ordination of project Governance arrangements, Post Project Reviews, Programme level workshops.
- Principal duties and responsibilities:

- To support the Programme Management Office Team including tracking status of proramme deliverables and milestones.
- Report on project performance across the portfolio of projects using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Working with the Project Services Manager safeguard compliance to governance standards, based on the ICT Project Methodology, including tracking, monitoring and updating the project portfolio.
- Report and escalate project risks and blockers; to Project Services Manager or Director of ICT and Digital Services as appropriate.
- Report on financial management.
- Manage the programme level risks and issues register.
- Build up a repository of project templates both technical and management to support the wider directorate - use examples from current and past projects to identify best practice.
In order to apply, you must have the following skills and experience:

- Previous experience in a PMO role
- Experience of working with Technology teams
- Experience in supporting tracking and reporting status of programme deliverables and milestones; supporting the adoption of the project lifecycle
- Experience is creating detailed training guides and conducting training sessions to assist with service transition processes
- Ensure the status of projects is transparent at all times
- Able to demonstrate a professional and responsive approach to meeting customer needs
- Experience of managing projects risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies
