- At Oakhill Secure Training Centre we look after young people aged 12 to 18 years old who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. The vulnerable young people in our care can be challenging with a wide range of social and emotional complex needs. This is an environment that calls for high standards of social care and service delivery to provide a secure and stable environment for young people to develop their life skills and address the behaviours that have led them into custody.
- Oakhill Secure Training Centre works closely with the Youth Custody Services to ensure that its regimes and designs reflect best practice in residential care to prevent offending.
- The vulnerable young people in our care can be challenging with a wide range of social and emotional complex needs. This is an environment that calls for high standards of social care and service delivery to provide a secure and stable environment for young people to develop their life skills and address the behaviours that have led them into custody.
- The prime function of this key role is to support our young people to recognize their potential by working alongside our children and their professionals to prepare them for future education and work prospects.
- Your main responsibilities will be to:

- Work alongside external professionals to confirm previous education experience and competency
- Attend meetings in order to support education progress and aspirations during their time in the centre Work alongside our young people and support enrolment into college and or work placements
- Track data in relation to young people's placement, education, future plans, and engagement with the ELO
- Be able to build and maintain strong professional relationships with our young people in order to fully support them and their education progress.
- Assist in the promotion of creating a positive Health & Safety culture across the site leading by example, this includes reporting accidents and near misses in a timely manner & follow the applicable safe systems of work for the role.

- Knowledge of apprenticeships, college courses, and national curriculum
