Our first project, the Phoenix neighbourhoodin Lewes (in planning), is a 700 unit urban extension that will transform a neglected brownfield site into one of Europe’s most sustainable neighbourhoods, provide training and jobs and transform the public spaces and amenities for the local community.

**What we are looking for**

As we grow, so do the demands on our finance department. This is a part time (c 20 hrs) temp-to-perm role suitable for a numerate, organised and confident person who has the following skills and attributes:

- You are AAT or similar level qualified bookkeeper or have equivalent professional experience and excellent Excel skills
- You are well versed with online bookkeeping software, preferably Xero
- You ideally have experience of payroll and CIS, as well as business operations such as business rates
- You are a problem solver, have excellent attention to detail and ensure you find an answer if something doesn’t add up
- You are proactive and a self starter who is excited by our mission and wants to contribute to our success.
- You enjoy working in a team, like helping people and have a friendly disposition

**Responsibilities**
- Input of invoices against a very detailed nominal ledger. Tracking of consultant invoices against agreed scope.
- Investigation of queries with consultants, the council regarding business rates and the charge-on of service charge to tenants.
- Processing of expense claims
- Day to day bank reconciliations and other bookkeeping activities all working within Xero
- General administration of a range of on-site tenant issues as the need arises.
- Support and attendance at the company wide events promoting the projects.

To maximise collaboration across our small team we encourage regular presence in the office. While some flexibility to work from home may be considered in the future, you should expect to be in the office every working day when you start, so please ensure you can travel to Lewes easily. We are happy for the hours to be focused within the school day.

You will be working closely with and reporting to our Head of Finance and indirectly to the Chief Financial Officer. You will also work closely with our Office and Site Managers in your work with administering the tenants on our site.

**Practicalities**

We are offering a salary ranging from £25,000 to £35,000 full time equivalent depending on your experience and training needs.
