In this post you will co-ordinate, plan and deliver the Gray’s School of Art Mobile Art School outreach programme in consultation and in collaboration with key staff within Gray's, including the Mobile Art School Steering Group.

An undergraduate degree in art/design and experience of planning and delivering community workshops are essential. You should also possess specialist knowledge within a creative discipline and experience of teaching within a further or higher education sector.

This role is part time working 24.5 hours per week.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES**:

- Delivers practical and creative workshops and information/presentation events to a diverse audience across the region including teachers, pupils, parents, influencers, community groups within age group profiles of 8 years old and upwards.
- Collaborates, consults, and maintains effective working relationships with key staff within Gray’s School of Art and the wider organisation of RGU to develop the outreach programme; to promote it, and resource the Mobile Art School in relation to its practical delivery of workshop and outreach activities.
- Establishes and maintains effective external networks in education and the arts / design / industry to access key target groups for delivery of outreach activities, identify new opportunities and maintain knowledge of developments within organisations; to collaborate/partner with organisations/groups to deliver high impact activity.
- Develops and maintains a good understand of key creative industries courses at RGU and any curricula developments therein, and should be able to present their key characteristics and differences to a broad audience of potential applicants or influencers of applicants.

- Undertakes appropriate administrative duties and responsibilities in relationship to the effective running of the Mobile Art School in relation to workshop development, programming of events, and resources provision.
- To collaborate with key staff in the School and RGU regarding the effective day-to day maintenance, security, and effectiveness of the Mobile Art School transport.
- To provide quarterly activity reports detailing events, expenditure, and key performance indicator analysis.
- Actively participates in staff development opportunities where appropriate
- Proactively seeks out new opportunities for the development of the Mobile Art School.
- Carries out such other related duties as may be required.
- This role may require the post-holder to work away from Aberdeen (involving travel), on weekdays/ends depending on projects and activities.

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**

**Qualifications and Professional Memberships**
Undergraduate Degree in Art / Design discipline
Hold a full /clean driving license

**Knowledge and skills**
Specialist knowledge within a creative discipline.
Good time-management, organisational & interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and experience of MS Office.

**Experience**
Experience of planning and delivery of interactive community workshops in direct relation to the creative sector.
Research and design methods, creative thinking tools, visualisation and communication methods (analogue and digital) production and manufacturing processes, material properties, contemporary contextual awareness of broad Art & Design sectors.
Some experience of teaching within the FE/HE sector.

**DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS**

**Qualifications and Professional Memberships**
Postgraduate Degree in a relevant discipline.

**Knowledge**
Understanding of the key factors affecting national and international educational markets, trends and forecasting, sustainable practices and patterns of employment.

**Experience**
Experience of large scale community workshop delivery across multiple
creative disciplines.
Industry experience and / or self-employment.
Relevant experience to diversify the school’s expertise and to participate in its commercial / research activities.
Experience of the full Adobe Creative Suite.
Experienced in 3D CAD software.
