**About Us**

XS Assure (XSA) was launched in 2021 and is a specialist underwriter of financial and professional lines risks in the UK and internationally. XSA's core business has been underwriting UK Excess of Loss risks where it originates business from ~130 insurance brokers.

Over the next year, we are looking to double the number of insurance brokers we trade with and grow our premium written by 50% - 100% alongside expanding into primary layers and deductible infill risks as well as broadening internationally and into adjacent classes. In the UK, we currently underwrite and/or place business with 4 risk carriers. Internationally, with 3 risk carriers.

To date, XSA has been very successful in building a sizeable and profitable portfolio due to its wide risk appetite, its ability to underwrite risks based on merit, empowered underwriters and a commitment to fast turnaround time on all quotes to insurance brokers.

Operationally, XSA employs 11 staff who all work from home. Culturally, it's very entrepreneurial and fast-moving with a focus on always building a better, smarter business with little bureaucracy. XSA is looking to bring on additional talent with the same ethos.

**The Role**

You will spend the majority of your time working with brokers on new business and renewals, assessing, rating and quoting risks, entering data into underwriting tools, issuing policy documentation and ensuring compliance with company standards.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Reviewing specialist cases and clearly and positively articulate underwriting decisions within agreed timeframes
- Refer risks outside of underwriting authorities
- Actively manage and develop a portfolio of accounts to maximise profitable revenue potential from new and renewal business
- Identifying, better, smarter, faster means of underwriting / trading
- Contributing to technical audits and peer review processes as required to support and enable the maintenance of an effective control environment
- Contributing to the development and monitoring of account plans
- Ability to work in a remote team environment
- Understanding our marketplace and key competitors to enable you to negotiate flexibly and appropriately resulting in successful trading
- Effective broker account relationship development and management
- Demonstrated ability to assess and price risks, limit exposures
- Successfully developing effective trading relationships
- Commercially astute with demonstrable track record of taking accountability for delivery

**Role Requirements**
- Minimum 5 years dedicated Professional Indemnity underwriting or broking experience, preferably UK market with a recognised insurer, MGA or broker
- Minimum Dip CII qualified (or equivalent)
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Individuals without PI broking or underwriting experience
- Individuals with PI experience as part of commercial combined offerings
