**Job overview**:
**The Medical Device Services Department supports clinical services and users of medical equipment around the Northern Care Alliance. We are looking to fill a vacant Technical Administration post.**

Main duties of this post include supporting the engineering function with routine technical administration using the departments information systems. Processing orders and updating records whilst working within an ISO9001 system.

You will be working in a multi-professional Medical Device Service, with teams delivering technical engineering, design, innovation & research, governance, library and training services across a number of Care Organisations and community teams. The aim is to have the right equipment, providing optimal performance, in the right place, at the right time for clinicians who know how to use it safely. This is achieved, by the different services, working in a blended way using innovative approaches. The MDS teams work closely together in a mutually respectful, supportive and friendly way, exchanging ideas and skills, to deliver a patient focused service.

**Main duties of the job**:
You will possess a Level 3 National Certificate / Diploma in Office Administration / IT or Customer Service. Experience in an engineering maintenance service industry will be an advantage. Knowledge in a help desk function is essential with good communication and IT skills.

You will support the Medical Device Services with technical administration required for the management of medical devices and assist in the management of the medical equipment inventory and associated Trust master registers and records. You will run an efficient customer help desk and support engineers with routine technical administration.

- 5 GCSE including English, Maths & Science

- Ability to priorities own workload.
- Ability to liaise across the Trust with users of equipment.

**Desirable criteria**:

- Knowledge of medical equipment terminology.

**Experience**:

- Experience of working within a Specialist technical environment / team.
- Experience of Microsoft office programmers including Word, Excel, power point and outlook.
- Experience of implementing and maintaining electronic and paper record filing systems.

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience of subcontract management.
- Experience of database systems.
- Experience of working in ISO9001 environment.
