Terry Howell Timber and Builders Merchants are currently looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner, to join our established business based at our Newport Dock site. This within our wholesale department of the business.

**Key Responsibilities of a Transport Planner**
- Effective route planning and utilising drivers for deliveries and collections
- Planning daily workload for vehicles based at dock site
- Answering queries from customers, employees and colleagues
- Dealing with driver hours ensuring they are compliant
- Planning fleet services and MOT's in accordance to the O licence requirements
- Dealing with driver hours ensuring they are compliant
- Organising internal stock movement between our 3 sites
- Monitoring stock requirements to fulfil order requirements
- Covering for site manager when off site, ensuring team have scheduled work to meet delivery requirements.
- Holiday cover for goods inwards procedures
- Site on time delivery (OTD) is monitored and recorded to site KPI metrics

**Ideal person for the Transport Planner Role**:

- Good formal education.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to balance conflicting demands.
- Good knowledge of the transport industry
- Previous experience of working within a transport office.
- Ability to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment.
- Good IT skills, including MS Word and Excel.
- Committed, reliable and flexible team player
- Driving experience would be advantageous, but not essential

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Newport, NP20 2NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
