An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Maternity Service at the Oxford University Hospital's NHS Foundation Trust for a Maternity Antenatal Outpatients Midwife / Manager.

Liaison with the Matron for Maternity Outpatients, the Consultant body and the wider MDT is key and as such the successful applicant must be a team player and have excellent communication skills and have excellent organisational, analytical and leadership skills.

**The post holder will**:
Be the expert for Consultant led Antenatal care and work collaboratively with the Obstetric Team to develop the service
Facilitate innovative and evidence based midwifery practice through professional leadership and supporting the clinical team
Have managerial responsibility for a group of staff working within their practice area
Act as a credible and professional role model
Encourage and empower staff to develop personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential
Liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver the best care to women and their families
Both facilitate the team to / and personally communicate highly sensitive information to woman regarding their care pathway

Report directly to and develop close working relationships with the Director of Midwifery/Deputy Head of Midwifery/Maternity Matron on operational and general management issues and clinical issues relevant to their practice area and team
Liaise with members of the OBU Midwifery Education Team to develop an effective learning environment for students
Ensure the clinical environment and other staff support new members of staff
Assist the Director of Midwifery / Maternity Matron in achieving the strategic objectives for the Maternity service
