- Do you have experience leading a team within the care/support sector?
- Do you feel as taking a Team Leader role is the next step for you?
- Are you looking to continue your career in social care/special needs?
- Are you looking for full time, permanent work?
- Do you have experience working with special needs on a 1:1 basis?
SupplyGo Education are looking for people who are experienced in Special Needs Care & Support roles with children & young adults from all walks of life. The most important thing we're looking for is that our applicants have a passion for helping those that are vulnerable and have additional needs. For those that aren't necessarily qualified, don't panic, full on-site training is provided
**About the Role**
This is a full-time permanent role, that is based at one site. The school in particular specialises in Autism, speech & language disorders and other associated behavioural difficulties. The children under your care & supervision will range from 05-19 years.
You will be in charge of caring for the child throughout the day, and will be an important part of the support network for the children in the dorm you'll be working in. Every child has 3 support workers, so you'll be working alongside 2 other support assistants that will work alternate shifts to yourself.
The role is a 39 hour a week role on rolling rota.
All of the above shifts will include weekend working to some capacity, so weekend availability is a must.
**Experience**
Having direct experience is essential with this being a Team Leader role. We need hard working, competent & pro-active applicants that are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children & young adults that have Special Needs & Learning Disabilities.
If you have experience working within Care, Residential backgrounds, Sports Coaching, Community Work, Learning Support and you have some transferrable skills and a desire to make a difference in the lives of children/young adults, please do apply
**Training & Qualifications**
You will receive a structured & comprehensive 3-week training programme in which you will be provided with the knowledge and information to succeed. The first week will be all about gaining in-house qualifications like health and safety and safeguarding training, and learning how the job will work in theory.
For weeks two and three you will be shadowing more senior experienced staff that are going to show you how to implement your training and introduce you to the children in your dorm. The idea is to bring you up to speed slowly whilst giving you the best training possible to ensure you do a good job.
You will be able to gain a whole host of qualifications whilst you do the job through the children's residential home and through us.
We have teamed up with a government backed & accredited training provider, that has a huge portfolio of qualifications on offer for you to choose from for free
Examples of qualifications on offer for free whilst you work:
