**Job Description**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Associate Director to join our Acoustics team. The growth of our acoustics workload requires the appointment of an Associate Director to manage and deliver acoustic projects, supporting and reporting to the Regional Acoustics Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- The individual would have excellent technical, project management, presentation, leadership, report writing, commercial, personal organisation and communication skills.
- The role would have a strong focus on environmental acoustics.
- Team Management_
- Delegate workload effectively to meet client needs and achieve utilisation target.
- Train/Mentor/Motivate - facilitate development of junior staff’s general consultancy skills and technical expertise.
- Set high standards of performance and quality for all team members.
- Liaise with other acoustics regional and technical leads.
- Manage project teams and create excellent client relationships.
- Project and Proposal Management _
- Manage technical client relationships and plays a major role in technical selling.
- Provide specialist technical input to studies and designs for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Provide fully costed proposals across a range of projects and oversees technical resources to meet requirements on large, complex projects.
- Be responsible for project and financial management of own projects and overseeing project management of team member’s projects.
- Works collaboratively with Technical leadership to develop and provide a consistent and high quality approach for all proposals and deliverables

- Provide technical leadership in Environmental Acoustics for projects.
- Undertake business development activity to support the growth of the Acoustics team.
- Provide technical leadership and drive best-practice within all projects.
- Grow the service offer to internal and external clients (e.g. develop innovative approaches).
- Keep up to date with relevant technical development in acoustics and its links to our business.
- Marketing_
- Assist in development of acoustics marketing material, both hardcopy and electronic.
- Liaise with other relevant AECOM teams, such as those in Buildings and Places, other environmental disciplines, etc. (relationship building, knowledge sharing etc.).
- Development of new service offers.
- Prepare technical papers and presentations and present at meetings and conferences, internally and externally.

- Assist Leaders in recruitment process.
- Assist Leaders in annual business plan development and development of quarterly action plans.
- Assist leaders in the development of the team, through arranging, presenting and participating in webinars, workshops etc.
- Have extensive experience of working in acoustics consultancy.
- Have a thorough understanding of the Environmental Impact Assessment process regarding Sound Noise and Vibration (SNV); be capable of technically reviewing acoustics/SNV assessment reports and new work proposals delegated by the team managers.
- Manage the acoustic input, undertake predictions and write reports on a range of projects, being fully conversant with relevant standards and guidance, including CRTN and CRN, BS4142, BS5228, BS8233, DMRB and being fully conversant with UK environmental acoustic legislation and policy.
- Have a proven track record of managing own workload and that of the team and line management of junior staff, including being available to provide on the job advice and instruction and to develop new lines of work or smarter ways of working.
- Previous experience in environmental noise and vibration assessment and a good understanding of noise and vibration related health impact assessment and be able to lead such projects.
- Proactively identify opportunities to cross-sell services to internal and external clients and assist with the winning of sufficient work from internal and external clients to support self and to contribute to the team.
