Category Specialist

**We are looking to recruit an experienced Category Specialist (Services) role that will support with the establishment and maintenance of a reliable and accessible supply chain to meet the needs of vulnerable adults in Salford.**

This will involve renewal of existing service provision along with more strategic, market-shaping activity to harness emerging opportunities and develop the range of services offered locally.

You will be working with traditional Adult Social Care service markets including care home and homecare providers while supporting the identification, adoption and integration of modern approaches such as Technology Enabled Care.

You will work as part of a supportive team while enjoying the autonomy to progress your own project portfolio, providing assurance and updates to the Category Manager and Head of Service.

You will provide support to colleagues, commissioners and providers in the effective and efficient delivery of Adult Social Care services. The role will support an end-to-end procurement function including identification of need, tendering and evaluation, contract management & administration, and supplier relationship management within the Adult Social Care service category.
