Birmingham, United Kingdom Ministry of Justice Full time

**ISC Probation Officer - Birmingham - 77091**
**£30,812 - £38,289**
**Birmingham**:
**IMPORTANT - APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO HOLD AN **EXISTING** PROBATION OFFICER QUALIFICATION FOR THIS ROLE.**

The Intense Supervision Court (ISC) for Female Offenders, based at Birmingham Magistrates, will be a place where support for a range of social challenges will be integrated. ISCs work by bringing judges together with professionals across the social welfare and criminal justice space to address the root causes of offending. They put judges at the centre of rehabilitation and recovery, linking the authority of the court and the services necessary to help individuals lead more productive and happy lives. Partners will co-deliver a truly holistic programme of care and take joint responsibility for tackling the problems which drive offending.

The new ISC holds-out the prospect of finding solutions to enduring problems: that there can be keys to overcoming the seeming inevitability of high re-offending rates by prolific offenders; that there can be antidotes to the pessimism felt right across the CJS at the pointlessness of short custodial sentences; and that there are cures for the suffering of offenders trapped in an endless cycle of crisis and punishment. It is an incredibly exciting project which stands to substantively improve outcomes for offenders, victims, and communities across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.

The role will work on the basis of end to end management. Therefore, you will be involved in the completion of pre-court assessments and the preparation of a Pre-Sentence Report, ongoing sentence management post-sentence with attendance at regular Court reviews with the Person on Probation. There will be considerable multi agency working in the co-ordination of the services with the Person on Probation and Women’s Service Providers across Birmingham
