IT Support Department

2nd Line IT Technician

FTE 1.0 (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)

SO1 - £26,507.00 -£28,649.00 Per Annum

This is an exciting role and opportunity to become part of our expanding IT Support Team in a fast-paced and diverse environment. As the 2nd line technician you will work with the 1st line team of four as the escalation point for issues they cannot resolve.

What will you be doing?

Resolving issues escalated to you by the 1st line team and dealing with the more complex\interesting issues assigned directly to you from the call queue.

Liaising with the 3rd line team (2 x systems engineers, 1 x server engineer, 1 x network engineer) as required to deal with issues

Working on smaller projects where you will be able to expand your skill sets by working on new technologies within the college, such as AI and VR.
- Hold a GCSE Mathematics and English Grade C or above (or Grade 4+)
- Have experience of at least three years of hands on first line support
- Ideally have at least a years’ experience in a similar role with good trouble shooting skills, technical knowledge and a service driven attitude.
- Have strong knowledge, with IT trouble shooting (hardware and software) and experience with windows 10\11, GPOs and Active Directory
- Have good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure, either in a team or independently.
