Host/ess On Hotel Barge

Cruising for almost 50 years, European Waterways are the owners and operators of a fleet of luxury hotel barges located in France, Holland and Scotland.

European Waterways is the owner and operator of 11 barges measuring from 30 to 39m. These barges can accommodate 8 or 12 guests maximum, depending on the size of the barge and have a crew of 5 to 6 people including, at least, a pilot/captain, a tour guide/deckhand, a chef and two hosts.

We are currently recruiting for a **Host/ess** for our barges in Scotland which cruise the Caledonian Canal between Inverness and Fort William for our 2024 season from March to mid-November.

The main tasks associated to the host role are:

- Welcoming passengers
- Cleaning the interior of the barge: bedrooms, communal areas, interior plants, making up beds, changing beds, etc.
- Meal management and service: table setting, plate service, wine and cheese presentation, etc.
- Stock management: breakfast stock, cleaning products, etc.

Profile required:

- You have some initial experience in the hotel/restaurant sector.
- You are dynamic, autonomous and organised.
- You have an eye for detail.

You are available on a short-term basis for replacements or on a long-term basis for a full season.

Seasonal contract for 7 to 8 months with salary depending on your experience.

Our crew members are provided with food and accommodation on board our boats during the season.

Tips are given at the discretion of customers.
