**Purpose of the role**
- To assist with the production, serving and delivery of meals
- To assist with the maintenance of hygiene in the kitchen and the equipment
- To work as part of a team to ensure that the service users enjoy a meaningful and enjoyable break within the location.

**Specific duties will include**
- Supporting the Catering manager in the effective operation of the Kitchen.
- Washing up all crockery, cutlery and utensils used by the kitchen, service users staff and visitors.
- Ensuring excellent stock rotation and control including ordering provisions and supplies.
- Ensuring basic maintenance/hygiene of all kitchen and dining room equipment including serving trolleys, place mats, trays and dining room furniture.
- Notifying the Head Chef/ Cook or Manager of any faulty or damaged equipment used by the kitchen staff.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the total washing up area including all the equipment within that area.
- Removing all kitchen waste as and when necessary and in accordance with the waste removal policies.
- Assisting the other staff in the removal of soiled kitchen linen.
- Preparing and delivering drinks as required by the service users.
- Ensuring that all records are maintained to the standards required by Revitalise as well as outside monitoring agencies such as Environmental Health.
- Attending staff meetings and 1:1 supervision sessions as directed.
- Performing other such duties as may reasonably be required.

**Personal development**
- Attending all induction and other mandatory training as required by Revitalise to ensure your professional skills are enhanced and kept up to date

- Strictly adhering to the Safety and security of the Kitchen protocols, including the safe storage and usage of all cleaning products as per C.O.S.H.H. regulations, complying with our Revitalise’s policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and data protection

**Special conditions**
- This role involves working regularly lifting and moving heavy objects in varying heights and sustained physical effort, the maximum weight being 15 Kilos. The role also involves the safe handling of sharp objects and hot liquids, chemicals and fats.
- There is a requirement to use industrial type catering machinery and equipment such as food mixers, food slicers and deep fat fryers.
- There is a requirement for sustained periods in varying temperatures including hot kitchens and cold storage.
- This post requires the holder to do varying shifts, which include early morning and late evening work and an on call rota system. The post holder is also required to work weekends as part of a rota and Bank Holidays when required.
- On occasions you may be requested to change your rota with reasonable notice to ensure the contingencies of the service are covered.
- This post requires the holder to have Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check as a condition of employment and to be renewed every three years. Changes to personal circumstances which may effect this must be notified to your line manager immediately.

**Experience**
- Working effectively as a part of a team to achieve successfully common goals.

**Skills, Knowledge and Abilities**
- Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate initiative in getting tasks done.
- Ability to accurately complete basic record-keeping duties confidently and in accordance with internal processes and procedures.
- The ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
- Evidence of full Covid-19 vaccination, and commitment to undertake all boosters as required by legislation for staff working in registered care homes unless you can evidence exemption.
