**The Opportunity**

The English Institute for Sport (EIS) and British Equestrian (BEF) are working in partnership to seek an exceptional individual to play a leading role working as the Head of Performance Support on their World Class Programme.

**A snapshot of the role**

The HoPS role for British Equestrian (BEF) will be required to lead the overall operational delivery of performance support services to the British Equestrian World Class Programme (WCP). This will include working with the Heads of Equine Sport Science and Medicine (ESSM) and Human Sport Science and Medicine (HSSM) who will provide the expertise and strategy within their areas with the HoPS role ensuring world class operational delivery and supporting world leading strategy development.

This role will include accountability for the line management of a combination of BEF and EIS staff plus independent contractors.
- Manage and support a diverse and decentralised support team encompassing both human and equine specialists including vets, farriers, saddlers, equine biomechanist, human and equine physiotherapists, performance nutritionists, performance psychology and lifestyle support.
- Ensure that performance support services achieve maximum impact and are fully aligned to all activity across the WCP through an embedded Performance Planning process and evolving the understanding of ‘What it Takes To Win’ (WiTTW).
- Support the sport to develop and futureproof strategies to achieve and sustain elite performance on the world stage.
