**Job Role: Technical Apprenticeships Officers/Assessors**
**Location: Mobile throughout Scotland**
**Salary: £31,575 - £40,745 **per annum, depending on experience + Company car/allowance**
**Grade: E**

**_ CITB are currently recruiting for a number of Technical Apprenticeship officers / Assessors throughout Scotland in a number of trades._**
- Carpentry and Joinery_
- Painting and Decorating _
- Brickwork _
- Roof Slating and Tiling _
- Plastering _

**Role Purpose**:
Manage and support cohorts of apprentice learners through the assessment process, across relevant occupations and centres.

Responsibility for supporting the recruitment and sign-up process, reviewing, managing assessment progression, learning portfolio management, timely achievement of apprentices and learner health, safety and wellbeing in compliance with government funding and Modern Apprenticeship requirements.

Contribute to the quality assurance process by ensuring compliance with all NCC procedures and awarding organisation requirements.

**Role Accountabilities**:
**Stakeholder support**
- Manage learner cohorts through monitoring on-site training and the delivery of occupational competency-based assessment in order to meet the requirements of the Modern Apprenticeship Framework
- Support teams and individuals in relation to assessment and quality assurance requirements of the Modern Apprenticeship.
- Maintain the health, safety, and welfare of all those involved in the assessment Promote and ensure compliance with all organisational policies on safeguarding, equality and diversity.
- Contribute to the achievement and maintenance of all quality standards currently held or aspired to by CITB
- Contribute to maintaining the integrity of qualifications within occupational

**Apprentice recruitment**
- Support with matched applicants and employers to start on the correct course via initial assessment and skills scan process.
- Ensuring that employers understand their responsibilities in the delivery of the apprenticeship programme and generating work-based evidence and can deliver the scope of the selected apprenticeship
- To ensure apprentices are signed up in accordance with contractual requirements
- Accurate completion and timely submission of all sign-up paperwork
- Workplace health and safety vetting

**Retaining Apprentices**
- Take all possible steps to retain and progress learner on programme to attain the highest level of achievement possible, including:

- Undertake regular progress reviews
- Managing and reporting progress
- Support with assessment process and work-based evidence for the SVQ portfolio
- Regular operational management meetings with providers to agree actions on learner progress including:

- Manage the learners learning and development plan
- Progress learners to the next level of apprenticeship where appropriate and available
- Make all appropriate interventions to minimise early leaver non-achievers.
- Timely submission of paperwork for leavers who leave without achievement

**Achievement**
- Manage learner progress effectively and monitor and track milestones towards achievement for the elements of framework through to final certification including:

- Support to ensure that SVQ portfolios are regularly updated and an provide an accurate reflection of each learner’s progress and conduct assessment and quality assurance support as required.
- Support to ensure evidence of completion is available for all elements of the apprenticeship and is submitted prior to the planned end date.
- Support employers with the mentoring of apprentices, delivering intervention sessions where the need is identified.
- Provide regular updates and engage with employers around learner progress, relating to all aspects of the programme, in particular, SVQ portfolio and work-based evidence requirements
- Celebrate success by ensuring learner are nominated for awards and competitions, promote the benefits of Skill Build to participating employers.

**Knowledge Skills & Experience**
- ** Essential**:

- Must meet the requirements of the **Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the built Environment **issued by the SSC for Construction (ConstructionSkills) for
- Hold the relevant occupational qualifications and industry experience commensurate with the qualification to be assessed.
- Expert understanding of the national occupational standard(s) against which they will assess and support apprentices and employers.
- Qualified to the latest assessment qualifications (or equivalents), and compliance with the current national occupational standards for
- Decisive decision-making skills in line with that required for competency
- Excellent planning and organisational
- Ability and skills to work autonomously, with minimum supervision and lead large learner cohorts.
