The Company:
JFD is the world leading underwater capability provider, serving the commercial and defence markets with innovative diving, submarine and hyperbaric rescue technical solutions, and services.

Job Purpose:
Based primarily in Inchinnan, the key accountability would be to support the export control manager in ensuring that JFD remain compliant in all aspects of record keeping, relating to national and US export regulations.
Some intermittent travel to other JFD locations may be required.

Principal Accountabilities:
There will be a wide range of export-based activities, which are aligned toward maintaining all mandatory records on company compliance with the conditions of use of UK Open and standard export licences, inclusive of the transfer of technology overseas.
- Validate and record mandatory shipping paperwork statements, records and technology transfers, while resolving errors by working with internal and external stakeholders as required
- Reconcile monthly MSS customs reports from HMRC (e.g., CHIEF/CDS reports)
- Provide constructive feedback on identified compliance issues to internal and external stakeholders, inclusive of JFD management structure
- Create statistics and analyses of export data for presentation to JFD management on a regular basis
- Maintain export licence and related matrix records (training, licence registers, etc)
- Monitor and implement mandatory documentary undertakings
- Assist the export control manager in conducting internal compliance reviews and training, as well as supporting external audits
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance on export control related matters to internal and external stakeholders, inclusive of UK and US export compliance legislation
- Confirm product classification ratings for in-house designed parts and bought in items
- Perform general export work as directed by manager

Key Behaviours:
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

- Proven practical experience (gained over a minimum of 2 years) in an export control or
- logistics related environment
- Good understanding of UK export control legislation and HMRC regulations
- Experience of US export compliance legislation would be advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail
- Practical experience using SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Understanding of international trade and compliance
- Experience of using UK export control system SPIRE would be advantageous
- Strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and demonstrable levels of tenacity
- Experience of working within a regulatory framework, preferably trade control or other related to international trade would be advantageous
