Digital Forensic Examiner
Cambridgeshire Constabulary have a vacancy for a police staff position within their Digital Forensic Unit as a Digital Forensic Examiner.
The digital world is fast growing and forever evolving. A digital element spans most crime types and plays a role in the majority of investigations, often providing key evidence.
The Digital Forensic Unit provides technical support to investigators across the Constabulary. Digital Forensic Examiners will examine and acquire data from digital devices such as computers and phones in line with ISO 17025 regulations, providing this in an evidential format for investigators, to assist in the progress of investigations. Digital forensic examiners being experts in their field may from time to time be called to give evidence at court relating to work they have carried out.
A big part of an examiner’s role is problem solving; establishing the best way to extract data needed. We are therefore looking for applicants who enjoy problem solving, working in a team environment and are good communicators.
A Digital Forensic Examiner is a specialist role with extensive training required to become competent, which is provided, for this reason there is a return on investment in place for any successful applicant.
The Digital Forensic Unit is situated at Thorpe Wood. The team is made up of one manager, nine Examiners, one administrator and is a mix of both police officers and police staff.
Shifts are Monday - Friday office hours
Successful applicants will be invited for an interview.
For any questions please ask Detective Inspector Denise Harper 07921094999.
Internal applicants within Cambridgeshire Constabulary, should upload either a CV or a completed ‘Staff internal role summary’ form, which can be found in the vacancy documents below. Please note you will be required to provide an expression of interest against the entry requirements (Max 500 Words - See Attached Role Profile).
