The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labour, parts and material, and equipment access. Job plans created by the Maintenance Planner are intended to ensure or extend the life expectancy of equipment therefore aiding in the total reduction of maintenance cost and increased output of product.
Reporting to the Brewing Reliability Manager, the planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordination of all plannable maintenance work performed within Brewing. The planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.
By definition of the role itself, Maintenance Planners are required to interact and communicate regularly with Operations and Maintenance. Not only is the maintenance planner’s role to interact with these groups, they serve as an integral member of the relationship between the groups by acting as a liaison between them.
- Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities_
- Must have knowledge of SAP maintenance package
- Embrace management tools such as VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) used to drive 5S standards, plant management basic fundamentals and the like, in order to achieve brewery KPI (Key Process Indicator) targets.
- Manages the backlog (machine related actions), action log (non-machine related actions), and prioritises Brewing maintenance activities with the Brewing team.
- Team working with Plant Technical Experts (PTE's), executes the Preventative Maintenance program, participates in reviews & updates of PM plans aligned with ZBS maintenance. Interacts with ZBS and OEMs to review PM changes and feedback on effective/ineffective practices. Works with technicians to improve the preventative maintenance system (schedule reviews, schedule updates, create BOMs, etc.)
- Identifies maintenance work from all sources and develops the long term and medium-term plan, and weekly maintenance schedule. Details maintenance notifications and maintenance days activities.
- Generate and provide daily line maintenance schedule. Keep an updated SAP-PM (plans, closings, acceptances).
- Provide material details for daily schedule. Liaise with engineering stores to stage parts and ensure 5S in staging areas.
- Place purchase requests for parts and services. Ensures that spare parts requirements for the medium-term maintenance plan are identified and timely ordered.
- Support the Reliability & Maintenance Manager to track parts and services for major outages and overhauls.
- Ensures the integrity of maintenance history captured via work orders and the integrity of the CMMS master data. Feedback to Shift FLMs where anomalies occur with returned information.
- Coordinate maintenance windows with production and Line Owners. Liaise with Brewing schedulers to ensure flexibility.
- Coordinate with the parts storeroom owner for all spare parts related matters.
- Track and monitor PM follow up tasks and ensure that any follow up work is captured. Feedback to shift FLMs where required.
- Update Bill of Materials (BOM) as needed on CMMS.
- Supports tracking and monitoring of the line maintenance budget, weekly and monthly maintenance KPI's/PI's review. Analyses maintenance history, equipment performance and identifies improvement opportunities (safety, LEF, MTTR etc.)
- SWI improvement owner for Brewing. Update as required and support Reliability Manager.
- Proactively engage with maintenance teams and operators to develop PM / ATO / CIL system.
- Plan, schedule and issue PM / ATO / CIL tasks as the correct frequency.
- Highlight any resource issues to the Reliability Manager
- Skills, Knowledge and Experience_
- Demonstrable experience working safely in a high-speed manufacturing/processing environment within a maintenance department or comparable technical services team.
- Working in a World Class environment delivering proven process improvements.
- Knowledge of high-speed Brewing equipment and machinery as well as batch process control used in brewing systems.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems, steam systems (including steam traps, heat exchangers and associated controls) and compressed air plant is a plus.
- Excellent mechanical/electrical/automation terminology.
- Embrace fast paced changing environment and be able to prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
- Excellent SAP maintenance package experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office package including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
