**About Hope Street**

**Hope Street** is an exciting, brand-new, purpose-built residential community-based service, designed in collaboration with women, for justice-involved women and their children in Hampshire. Trauma-informed by design it will offer a safe andsupportive environment where women and their children can access education, practical and therapeutic support and activities that build confidence, self-esteem and skills and provide the opportunity to build a fulfilling and happy life and play a meaningfulrole within society.

**About the Role**

You will be part of a brand-new team setting out to deliver this new and exciting residential service for women and their children from Hampshire. Hope Street is a 24-hour service, and you will be part of the Night Team that will be on site to provide aresponse to any issues that arise for the women during the night. You will also provide some of the facilities support services during your shift to ensure that Hope Street meets all the required health and safety standards in terms of cleanliness and hygiene,fire safety and maintenance reporting.

**Key Responsibilities**
- _Be the first point of contact for women during the night for any issues they may be experiencing and ensure that they are given comfort and reassurance and assistance from external agencies where necessary such as a paramedic if there is a health concern._
- _Ensure that any safeguarding plans in place are followed and updates are entered on the Case Management System._
- _Carry out regular checks around the Hope Street site during the night and intervene where necessary to respond to any conflict between residents in the flats and any disturbances, such as TVs or music playing too loudly._
- _Provide emotional support to women who have been going through detox or are isolating due to ill health in the private assessment and treatment bedrooms in the Hub._
- _Participate in the regular schedule of housekeeping duties to ensure that the communal areas of Hope Street are maintained._
- _Provide additional support to the Night Safety Workers in the event of any threats to the safety of Hope Street from external factors during the night._
- _Participate in regular handover meetings to ensure that any concerns identified during the night are passed to the day team so that any actions or support required is implemented._

**Essential Experience**
- Working in residential services for people with multiple vulnerabilities who have experienced trauma and abuse, substance use problems, mental health problems, and homelessness.
- Responding to challenging and difficult situations, and emergencies in a residential setting.
- Following and implementing procedures for safeguarding adults and children.
- Providing 1:1 support to people who may be experiencing a deterioration in their mental health or are struggling to cope with their emotions.
- Using Case Management Systems for data and outcome recording.

**Knowledge/Skills**
- Ability to cope in stressful situations with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise activities and responses in order of importance.
- Understanding of trauma and its long-term effects on a person’s behaviours, self-esteem, confidence, and ability to trust others.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 to ensure the appropriate management of personal and sensitive personal data.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure that health and safety management within the Hub and the residential accommodation complies with all relevant legislation.
