- **Purpose of the role**_
We are on the lookout for a Sustainability and CSR Specialist to enhance our dedication to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
In this role, you’ll lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate levels of governance and compliance are adhered to. You’ll be instrumental in fostering a company-wide sustainability culture, weaving CSR and sustainability values into our business and product decisions. Your expertise will also be key in acquiring and retaining esteemed accreditations like ISO14001 and Ecovadis, along with managing our Carbon Quota annual Scope 1 footprint monitoring.
- **Job Tasks**_
The job holder is expected to proficiently undertake the following tasks:
1. Continuously monitor the sustainability landscape of the markets within which Harrison Group operates.
2.Make regular reports to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to maintain up to date awareness of competitor best practice.
3.Make recommendations to the SLT regarding Harrison sustainability and CSR initiatives required for compliance and those recommended for reasons of competitive business positioning.
4.Close communication and collaboration with the Marketing division regarding accuracy and advisability of Sustainability and CSR content planned for internal communications and external PR.
6.Consider requests to audit Harrison by customers; make recommendations for acceptance/rejection; supervise any actual resulting audits.
7.Advise various departments of all aspects of sustainability and CSR.
8.Attend relevant external Sustainability and CSR oriented events as the responsible Harrison representative and authority on all relating matters.
9.Review, monitor and update Harrison policies and procedures relevant to Sustainability and CSR.
10.Function as the Harrison interface person with external accreditation bodies for assessments such as ISO14001, Ecovadis, and Carbon Quota.
11.Develop business KPIs for Sustainability and CSR performance monitoring and collate regular reports for management and SLT.
12.Responsibility for defining the business requirements that result in Harrison achieving desired Sustainability and CSR accreditations.
13.Drive the internal audit process to confirm our adherence to policies and procedures. Supervise any externally led audits requested by accreditation bodies.

- **Person Specification**_
To carry out the duties above, the following skills, competencies and experiences are necessary:
1. Previous experience in the field of Environmental Affairs, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility with responsibilities relevant to the job tasks listed above.
2. Knowledge of the corporate legislation defining Sustainability and CSR compliance.
3. Strong organisational skills including practical experience and knowledge of auditing and compliance with relevant accreditation standards.
4. Self-motivated with the ability to lead strategic Sustainability and CSR initiatives and influence company mission.
5. Strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively in multi-functional teams.
6. A passionate advocate of Sustainability and CSR considerations.
7. Sound decision making and communication skills. Ability to present with logic and balance to guide Senior Management to make Sustainability and CSR decisions appropriate to the Harrison business scale and stage of development.
8. Inquisitive nature. Keeps informed of latest market developments.
9. Experience of working in an SME scale company would be an advantage.
