**Location: Shotton, North Wales (CH5) ( 10 miles from Chester )**

**Work Pattern: Shifts - 4 on 4 off with 5 x 18 day breaks per year**

Steel has been successfully processed on the Tata Steel site at Shotton in North Wales for more than 120 years. The profitable and cash generative plant produces a wide range of world-class galvanised and pre-finished (painted) steel building systems, which supplies the construction, domestic appliance and manufactured goods markets amongst others. Shotton has developed a number of unique, technically advanced and high value products and services for customers in the UK and throughout Europe.

***The Role**

We are seeking applicants who are able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, have good communication skills and are self-motivated and enthusiastic. You will be part of a 4 person Shift team comprising of - (1 Shift Electrician, 2 Shift Automation Technicians, 1 Shift Mechanical Fitter )

Within the role, you duties and responsibilities will include:

- Working as part of a team you will be required to provide engineering support to the manufacturing production lines
- Carrying out day-to-day maintenance activities which includes planned preventative and reactive maintenance during planned and unplanned production stops
- You will be required to respond to plant breakdowns, methodically diagnosing faults to ensure the line is running again as soon as possible
- Ability to read mechanical drawings
- Good working knowledge of Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems
- You will use your skills to identify solutions to problems, you will be methodical in your approach and use the sites supporting diagnostics to identify root cause of problems such as CCTV. Training will be provided
- Commissioning support for major line improvements
- Executing new improvement projects
- You will be required to carry out Mechanical Isolations as required around site
- Fault finding on Overhead cranes during breakdowns
- Supporting training of Apprentices
- Carrying out Statutory checks on site
- Ongoing specialist training will be provided by internal & external leading training providers

**The successful applicant will be a time served mechanical craftsman and have adequate relevant plant experience in a steel, construction or process related industry.**

An NVQ level 3 in Mechanical engineering is also desirable for this role.
