Shawpak are looking to recruit a Technical Author & Quality Controller to provide support to the mechanical design engineers and to take ownership of the machine operation & instruction manuals, including issuing product specific changes where required. Compilation of build manuals, spares lists, and technical customer focused documentation such as product datasheets, operating manuals, installation, maintenance, and commissioning manuals. A creative attitude required, utilising tools within the Solidworks platform for graphical output. In addition to the above, the role will also contain aspects of marketing and communications publications.

**COMPETENCIES**
- A competent knowledge and experience of working with medical packaging and/or devices.
- A competent knowledge of SolidWorks CAD package (including Composer) or similar
- Very strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, as well as other applicable packages such as Adobe.
- Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements of ISO 9001 and relevant machine specific standards.
- Strong report writing with spelling and grammar, showing ideas and concepts graphically.
- Excellent organisational, timekeeping and communication skills including writing, editing & proof-reading text.
- A competent understanding of engineering and workshop machinery.
- Ability to collate and verify information.
- Ability to articulate meaning, with a sense of narrative, demonstrating consistency, accuracy, and conciseness.
- Ability to anticipate a customer’s questions and capture these in the documentation output.
- Have a strong eye for detail, with good technical knowledge and the ability to identify and solve problems.

**MAIN TASKS**
- Create and maintain machine operator & installation manuals.
- Create technical sales literature and press releases on new developments.
- Create technical documentation for sub-assemblies ie Pureform, die cut station.
- Assist the test team to create final test and FAT documentation.
- Responsibility/authority for QMS, liaising with the Operations Director regarding ISO Document Control, ensuring standards are met and management of the annual audit.
- Create validation documentation.
- Implement standard documentation to create a uniform branded document packs.
- Create FDS documents with technical departments.
- Assistance with the development of internal checklist publications and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
