Sanctuary Supported Living is the largest provider of housing related support to single homeless people in Suffolk. The aim of our services is to ensure our customers achieve their own goals and aspirations through the support and encouragement of our staff and focusing on delivering excellent quality.

The primary focus of our services is to support clients in a range of areas including, finding employment, recovery from addiction and building stability through a range of social activities. A successful outcome is achieved when our customers can move on to suitable long-term accommodation appropriate to their needs.

We are seeking a resilient, empathetic and empowering Specialist Project Worker to join our team in Sudbury and Haverhill.

Across Haverhill and Sudbury, we provide support to 47 individuals experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

You will be closely supporting the Local Service Manager; to play a vital role in the delivery of a high-quality service that meets with all legislative and organisational requirements.

**The role of Specialist Project Worker will include**:

- Supporting The Local Service Manager to build and develop effective teams and services to our customers
- In conjunction with the Local Service Manager, supporting to manage a number of staff, recruiting new staff, developing and training staff, and devising effective and well-run staff rotas
- Supporting the scheme project workers with any more complex customers to ensure their goals and aspirations are being met
- Helping customers to maximize their income, budget, pay their rent and engage with work and training with the overall goal of the individual having increased independence for when they move on from our services
- Ensuring the quality of electronic support and risk management plans best meet our customers’ needs
- Supporting the Local Service Manager in effectively managing the void process on any empty properties
- Supporting the Local Service Manager in effectively managing the rent accounts and any arrears with the support of the central income team
- A good understanding of health and safety
- Supporting the Local Service Manager in developing and maintaining relationships with customers and relevant external agencies with the proven ability to liaise effectively with statutory and voluntary partners

**Skills and experiences**:

- Ability to solve problems effectively and work as part of a team
- Compassionate, understanding, and hard working with a hands-on approach to help achieve supportive outcomes
- Good written English and strong communication skills
- Experience working with vulnerable adults, people with mental health needs or substance misuse
- Experience in support planning, risk assessment and safeguarding
- Previous experience working under challenging circumstances
- Ability to use IT systems confidently
- Experience of working in a person-centred way, supporting service users to maximise opportunities for personal development
- Travel is a requirement of the role; a full, current driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required
