The Senior Vision Rehabilitation Specialists (SVRS) are professionals who are trained to support visually impaired adults, enabling, and empowering them to live the life they choose. They support individuals to develop and maintain the independence and confidence they need to progress through life, in the home, at work, socially and help them to adjust to new situations.

The SVRS provides professional supervision to Vision Rehabilitation Specialists (VRS) through regular 121 discussion and observation of their practice. They provide effective feedback to recognise good practice and identify areas for improvement. They maintain strong working knowledge of Rehabilitation Services and create an atmosphere of continual learning by sharing their experience and knowledge to support consistency and high quality standards in the delivery of services to our clients.

For this role you’ll be working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role is based within the South-East on a home-start nominated office arrangement.

**Essential**
- Qualification as either a Mobility Instructor or Rehabilitation Worker e.g. Dip HE Rehabilitation Studies or equivalent.
- Requirement to register with the Rehabilitation Workers Professional Network.
- Current valid UK/EU Driving licence, or able to demonstrate how to complete the role without.
- Extensive experience of working with people who are blind and partially sighted.
- Extensive experience of complex needs.
- Demonstrable experience of working with volunteers.
- Instructional techniques. Orientation and mobility assessment and training.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Health & Safety at work regulations.
- Ability to provide professional technical supervision to other trainee and qualified VRS.
- Ability to build rapport with and obtain information from clients using person centred planning.
- Proven ability to work with people who have additional needs.
- Works effectively across functions with staff and volunteers and externally within multi-professional settings.
