C4 Acute Stroke Unit is a friendly and supportive ward looking to recruit a caring, motivated and hardworking first level deputy ward manager to be part of our progressive multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

The Stroke Service at Nottingham University Hospitals is at the forefront of evidence based care, clinical practice and academic research. There are opportunities for successful applicants to participate in providing care for patients throughout their journey, including assessments, implementation of therapeutic care and being involved in complex discharge planning while liaising closely with the multi-disciplinary team.

- Experience at band 5 for a minimum of 3 years
- Supervision of non registered staff, pre registration and post basic students

Desirable criteria
- Recent or current experience within the specialty
- Demonstrate an involvement in link nurse, or project work
- Audit or research within the clinical area
- Providing staff with feedback on their individual performance and use of the knowledge and skills framework

Communication and relationship skills

- Physically able to perform the full range of nursing duties
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
- Produce timely, accurate written/electronic records and documents
- Demonstrate basic IT skills
- Recognition of own level of competence and limitations and able to communicate these to appropriate staff
