2. Job Purpose:
Distressed Load Management is a key service developed by Oakland International in 2000 aimed at providing a professionally managed solution for inspecting, sorting, and classifying loads of food which may have been compromised through the presence of clandestine infiltration by immigrants aiming to enter the UK by way of gaining access to transport vehicles or trailers.

The service has been developed and refined over the years and is recognised as the UK’s leading solution for load rectification with outstanding reactivity and flexibility to offer a same-day or next-day solution for clients who require the service.

The solutions provided under the DLM classification can now include (but are not limited) to the following;
a) Clandestine infiltration

b) Load shifting (requiring re-palletisation)

c) Suspected or actual temperature abuse

d) Labelling errors

e) De-branding

f) Foods and non-foods

**3. Key Tasks / Responsibilities**:

- To carry out the Distressed Load Service as per Oakland International work instructions
- To ensure compliance with the requirements of the BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards) for Storage and Distribution.
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, and relevant authorities (including insurance representatives).
- Produce clear documentation of services provided and ensure that all necessary controls are followed or are in place to safeguard food that may present a risk to human health or brand reputation.
- Liaison with customer technical departments as required.
- The control and verification of monitoring device accuracy (including temperature probes)
- To encompass the role of traceability and product recall in line with company systems and procedures.
- To ensure all inputs and outputs are in-line with all auditing controls.

**6. Other**:
This job description describes the main responsibilities of the post holder. The post holder will be fully consulted on any significant changes.

These duties will not be unreasonable and will be appropriate to this level of post.

From time to time, working in other areas of the Business may be necessary. The ability to adapt and take on all requirements is expected but will be within the skillset of the operative.
