The Cancer Services department is looking for a Band 5 Multidisciplinary Co-ordinator to join the team. The team would consider a Band 4 who can demonstrate personal and professional development potential. The position is fixed term contract

Post is for 37.5 hours per week and will involve working at both Epsom and St Helier. The hours will be 7.5 hours, Monday - Friday between 8 - 5. Flexible working will not be considered for this role.

For this role, you will need to have a good understanding of patients' pathways and have previous experience in using hospital systems. The successful post holder must have experience of patient pathway tracking and knowledge of cancer performance targets. You will be required to prepare clinical Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings and track patients closely to ensure that they are reviewed and treated within cancer guidelines/targets.

Experience in using Infoflex, the Cancer database, is advantageous, and excellent IT computer skills are essential.

Track Two-Week Rule referrals to ensure patients are diagnosed promptly and track all newly diagnosed cancer patients to ensure they receive their treatment within national timescales. Maintain tracking systems to inform weekly reports and liaise with MDT Navigators at the Royal Marsden and St George’s Hospitals so they are aware of patients requiring treatment there.

Be responsible for capturing information about cancer patients’, ensuring up-to-date relevant information is recorded on the Trust’s databases.

Work with the Service Manager to ensure the development of locally and nationally agreed datasets, including assisting with the monitoring of waiting times for new cancer patients.

Coordinate cross-site multidisciplinary (MDT) meetings, ensure that all the necessary information is available to enable clinical decisions to be made and that decisions are documented according to local protocols.
