HR Adviser at Ofgem is an ideal job if you’re looking to develop a HR career. You’ll get exposure to a wide-ranging HR generalist role, with plenty of learning and development as you help to design, deliver and future proof what we do in Ofgem HR.

Your responsibilities will range from acting as the first line of query resolution for customers contacting Ofgem’s People Centre, providing a triage service for all people and estates related issues at first contact stage. You’ll provide initial advice for employment related matters and lead non-complex employee relations areas, supporting the work of the HR Administration Officers, undertaking administrative tasks, coaching & developing colleagues and quality assuring work within the People Centre.

Today, you might be a CIPD Associate, working towards a relevant qualification, or be interested in undertaking an HR qualification. Whatever your background, you’ll demonstrate enthusiasm for being part of an HR team in a fast-paced environment. You’re keen to learn and get involved, and excited by the prospect of looking at our processes and giving your input. Excellent customer service is essential. You’ll be self-motivated and highly organised, have excellent IT skills and crucially, you’ll also bring excellent communication skills and experience of collaborating with all kinds of people.

**Job description**:

- Carry out all HR administration tasks in conjunction with other HR Advisers, maintaining an awareness of the work priorities within the People Centre and covering for others team during absence.
- Act as HR advisory lead for all employee attendance matters - running people absence reports, organising referrals and alerting line managers/HRBPs to threshold cases.
- Support the coordination of staff inductions, actively seeking to improve the experience for new starters, supporting orientation and integration into Ofgem.
- Develop and act as an HR expert for Ofgem employment policies (eg parental leave, absence etc), providing front line advice to employees and guidance for line managers.
- Triage the people and estate queries, referring complex matters to the appropriate P&E colleague or line manager as required
- Act as point of liaison between the HRBP team, Payroll, Resourcing and other key internal stakeholders
- Act as an initial point of contact for employees with myCSP queries, including the ordering/querying of pension packs
- Support the L&D Co-ordinator/L&D team in relation to learning/development queries and events
- Ensure the coordination and administration of key HR initiatives and business as usual programmes as instructed i.e. People Survey, Flu jabs
- Act as a note taker at disciplinary or grievance hearings as required.
- Conduct employee exit interviews - ensuring key feedback to relevant HRBP is provided. Review and collate exit questionnaires to inform turnover MI reporting.
- Ensure the provision of management information regarding People Centre service deliverables to the People Centre manager (SLAs/KPIs)
- Update the People and Estates areas of the Wire, monitoring for accuracy and relevance (with management instruction/guidance).
