**About the job**:
As our new Health & Safety Advisor you will have a passion for solutions and collaboration with a desire to take the next step in your Health and Safety career. This role is field based and will involve regular travel across our 35 depots all over the England, Scotland and Wales where you will be supporting our managers in translating the corporate H&S policy into a structured and systematic approach.

When you aren’t on depot visits we would like to see you working closely with our Senior Management Team at our Support Office based in Heaton Mersey, Stockport to keep H&S at the top of every agenda.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Be the central contact for all aspects of H&S, ensuring we have the right framework within which we operate.
- Creating and delivering the yearly action plan and ensure H&S excellence across the UK organisation, working in conjunction with our H&S based in the NL
- Supporting the set-up and maintenance of the risk evaluation process, and ensuring the correct preventative measures are put in place
- Conducting investigations into occupational accidents to identify root-cause analysis and ensuring the risks (RIDDOR) are reported and investigated, as well as giving advice and support to ensure issues are rectified quickly and efficiently
- Providing managers with information and education regarding health and safety legislation, guidelines, best practices, procedures and audits through toolbox talks, safety procedures, safety alerts and communication updates
- Ensuring UK H&S policies and procedures are aligned to both UK legislation and the Boels corporate guidelines
- Maintaining an operational H&S audit programme, supporting managers in implementing preventative and corrective measures in their depots
- Developing a H&S Committee to ensure shared best practice and continued H&S focus throughout the organisation
- Ensuring correct H&S certification is in place and support the implementation of ISO 45001

**Your Profile**
To become the best at Boels Rental as a Health & Safety Advisor, you have to:

- Be passionate about H&S
- Have a strong knowledge and operational understanding of Health and Safety and be able to demonstrate experience of creating and implementing H&S policies and procedures
- Have experience of providing health and safety guidance and advice over multiple sites
- Be NEBOSH trained/qualified to a minimum of either Certificate or Diploma level or be willing to work towards qualification
- AIOSH or Tech IOSH level membership is preferable
- Be proficient in IT with working knowledge of Microsoft suite - Outlook/Excel/Word/Powerpoint
- Have a valid passport and a full UK Driving Licence (preferably clean).
